Adolfo Henriquez of Paterson Charged With Sex Assault and Child Endangerment

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of ADOLFO A. HENRIQUEZ of 228 Maryland Avenue, Paterson, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit under the direction of Chief Carmen MARTINO and the Garfield Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge, Captain Raymond KOVACH.

On Monday, February 22, 2016, the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) received an allegation of sexual abuse in Garfield, New Jersey. DCP&P notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit which in turn notified the Garfield Police Department. A joint investigation ensued.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Adolfo A. HENRIQUEZ had committed illegal sexual acts on a juvenile female acquaintance.

As a result of interviews and the investigation, Adolfo A. HENRIQUEZ was arrested on February 23, 2016 and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault (2C:14-2A(2)(C)), a 1st degree crime, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2C:24-4A), a 2nd degree crime.

The Honorable Susan J. Steele, P.J. Cr. set bail at $300,000.00 with no ten (10%) percent option. As conditions of bail, Adolfo A. HENRIQUEZ is to have no contact with the victim and must surrender his passport. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Garfield Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
