Leonia Chamber Musicians Society to Hold Annual Home Gala Benefit Concert

(Bergen County, New Jersey; October 13, 2016) -- The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, will hold its annual Home Gala Benefit on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. The event, scheduled to take place at a private home in Leonia, New Jersey, will feature short classical music selections performed by The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society's members Theresa Norris, flute; Marsha Heller, oboe; Daryl Goldberg, cello; and guest artist Roxanne Bergman, violin.

The Society’s professional musicians, who perform in the major concert halls of New York City and worldwide, will generate the excitement of a live performance during the gala benefit. A reception of elegant desserts and champagne will be served.

All proceeds from this special event will support The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc.'s 2016-2017 concert season and the organization's mission to enrich the cultural environment of the community by presenting a series of high quality, affordable, and accessible chamber music concerts. Admission is $50 per person and tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

2016-2017 Season

The new season launches Sunday, November 6, 2016 with a special American themed concert in honor of our Elections. The first concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Leonia United Methodist Church, 396 Broad Avenue, in the borough of Leonia, New Jersey. Performers will include Cenovia Cummins and Roy Lewis, violin; Jack Rosenberg, viola; Daryl Goldberg, cello; Theresa Norris, flute; Marsha Heller, oboe; Chris Cullen, clarinet; Atsuko Donaruma, bassoon; and RJ Kelley, French horn. The program features the woodwinds in music by American composers Samuel Barber and Vincent Persichetti and the strings in music of Antonín Leopold Dvoƙák and Scott Joplin.

The second concert presents a Spanish Flavor program featuring Cynthia Phelps, Principal Viola with the New York Philharmonic. The Leonia Chamber Musicians will perform on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 4 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 150 Park Avenue Leonia, New Jersey. The season closes on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society returns to All Saints Episcopal Church to perform a concert spotlighting music by popular request.

Refreshments will be served after the concerts, and the audience will have an opportunity to meet and greet the musicians. All Saints Episcopal Church is fully handicapped accessible.

For all the concerts, tickets may be purchased at the door for $30 adults, $25 seniors, and students under age 18 will be admitted free. The special season subscription rate for all three concerts is $80 for adults ages 18 and over and $65 for seniors.
