Keith A. Knaack and Laura V. Ruddiman of Bergenfield Arrested On Weapons Charges
Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. GREWAL announced the arrests of KEITH A. KNAACK (DOB: 2/19/1969) and LAURA V. RUDDIMAN (DOB: 2/12/1963) both of 129 Levitt Avenue, Bergenfield, New Jersey on weapons charges. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, under the direction of Officer-in-Charge, Deputy Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, the Dumont Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael J. CONNER, the Bergenfield Police Department, under the direction of Chief Cathy MADALONE, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.
Pursuant to this investigation, on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team executed a court authorized Search Warrant at the residence of KEITH A. KNAACK and LAURA V. RUDDIMAN.
Police personnel subsequently searched the residence and recovered the following items:
-two AR15 assault rifles each with sliding stocks;
-one Ruger Mini 30 Assault Rifle with a folding stock;
-one Ruger Mini 14 Assault Rifle; -one Ruger .22 Cal Rifle;
-one Walther PPK .380 cal handgun;
-one Ruger revolver;
-one antique rifle w/ bayonet;
-three high capacity ammunition magazines;
-a large quantity of ammunition; and
-approximately forty-five grams of Marijuana.
Keith A. KNAACK was charged with four counts of possessing an assault rifle; one count of being a certain person not to possess a firearm; and three counts of possessing high-capacity ammunition magazines.
Laura V. RUDDIMAN was charged with four counts of possessing an assault rifle and three counts of possessing high-capacity ammunition magazines.
The Honorable Judge Louis Dinice set bail for both KNAACK and RUDDIMAN at $75,000.00 with no ten percent (10%) cash option.
Both KNAACK and RUDDIMAN were remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
Acting Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Dumont Police Department, the Bergenfield Police Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit for their assistance in this investigation.
