Marc Stephens Files FBI Complaint Regarding the Murder of Englewood Model Danielle Chaney
On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Marc Stephens of Englewood, NJ, filed a complaint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Newark, New Jersey, and Houston, Texas, regarding the murder of aspiring model Danielle Vanessa Chaney. Stephens complaint details the homicide that took place on Friday, February 2, 2018, in which Danielle, 20 years old, was found murdered inside her apartment located at 8000 W. Tidwell Rd., Apt 1809, Houston, Texas 77040.
Houston Police states that around 5pm, Danielle Chaney, was found shot in the head on the bed in her northwest Houston apartment, which was a gated community. Danielle was later rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.
When KTRK checked out the scene, they saw an open window and another window shattered by gunfire.
Neighbors said they didn't hear any shots. They later heard about the shooting because of the police activity.
There is no word whether police obtained footage from the surveillance cameras surrounding the gated community.
According to the FBI, Marc Stephens provided information on 17 individuals who are potential suspects in the murder of Danielle.
Stephens’ complaint also indicates that two of the potential suspects threatened the life of FBI agent Nathan Hopps and his wife in Dallas, Texas, and the suspects are listed in a criminal complaint filed by FBI special agent Ronnie O Buentello.
Marc Stephens also provided multiple photos, and three videos to the lead detectives in Houston, Texas, and to Chief Lawrence Suffern of the Englewood Police Department.
“You can tell he spent a substantial amount of time working on this information. It’s very detailed”, says Detective Michael Barrow of the Houston Police Department Homicide Division.
Stephens’ complaint states that he is childhood friends with Danielle’s mother, Betty Chaney-Harris.
Danielle Vanessa Chaney, funeral was held on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Community Baptist Church, 224 1st Street, Englewood, New Jersey.
Stephens' complaint does not mean anyone is the actual suspect, or guilty of any crime. HPD is still reviewing the information.
