PATERSON— U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, today applauded $3,287,135 in new federal funding for New Jersey to aid severe winter storm cleanup. "In the middle of summer, it may be hard to remember the toll our roads and infrastructure paid during winter storms earlier this year, but we are still paying those bills. This grant can help alleviate a portion of those costs," said Rep. Pascrell.

"As long as it’s available, I will continue to fight for federal dollars to help New Jersey."

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced the federal grant for the State of New Jersey.

This award provides $3,287,135 in federal funding to the New Jersey Department of Transportation for FEMA-DR-4264-NJ (Severe Winter Storm) and is authorized under Section 403 of the Robert T Stafford Act.

The following counties were made eligible for this funding under President Obama’s Disaster Declaration on March 15, 2016: Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties.

FEMA obligates funding for this project directly to the State. It is the State's responsibility to ensure that the eligible sub-recipient receive this award.

Following the State's review process and upon receipt of appropriate documentation, they will provide funds to the sub-recipient on a reimbursable basis.
