U.S. Senator Bob Menendez call upon President Obama to protect the Jersey Shore

LONG BRANCH, NJ – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez stood on the boardwalk in Long Branch to call upon President Obama to exercise his authority to protect the Jersey Shore by permanently banning offshore drilling in the Atlantic Ocean before he leaves office. The senator was joined by U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (N.J.-06) and environmental advocates from Clean Ocean Action, Environment New Jersey, Sierra Club, N.Y./N.J. Baykeeper, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, American Littoral Society, Edison Wetlands Association, Jersey Coast Anglers Association, and New Jersey Conservation Foundation.

Last week, Sen. Menendez took to the Senate floor and penned an op-ed in Sunday’s Newark Star-Ledger to make the case for immediate action before the sun sets on the Obama Administration.
