Rep. Donald Norcross Statement on U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Gun Ownership for Domestic Abusers

Cherry Hill, NJ-U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today released the following statement on the Supreme Court of the United States’ ruling Voisine v. United States:

“Today, the nation’s high court issued a common sense ruling that has the potential to save many innocent lives. By keeping convicted domestic abusers from easily accessing firearms, the Supreme Court of the United States affirms logical and reasonable action to safeguard men, women and children from criminals who shouldn’t be armed--plain and simple.  I applaud the high court for its ruling.”

Rep. Norcross has repeatedly demanded leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives bring to the floor for a vote legislation that would provide enhanced background checks on potential firearms buyers and close a loophole in U.S. law that allows those on the nation’s ‘no fly list’ to legally purchase guns in this country.
